Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas Campus joined the nation in observing Eid’l Adha, the “Festival of Sacrifice,” a significant Islamic holiday celebrated worldwide. This religious festival honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, symbolized by God providing a ram for sacrifice. Eid’l Adha is a time for Muslims to reflect on sacrifice, faith, and obedience, emphasizing compassion and solidarity through prayer, charity, and sharing with the less fortunate.
The celebration of Eid’l Adha at ISU Roxas Campus aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. Notably, the campus’s initiatives resonate with Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger, promoting economic empowerment, sustainable agriculture practices, and community outreach programs to combat poverty and food insecurity. Moreover, ISU Roxas Campus’s commitment to Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being is evident through its comprehensive health and wellness programs, counseling services, and initiatives that prioritize the physical and mental well-being of students and the community.
In a remarkable achievement, ISU Roxas Campus was honored as the 2nd Most Eco-Friendly Campus in the ISU System on June 6, 2024, underscoring its dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This recognition showcases the campus’s leadership in promoting eco-conscious practices, setting an example for other educational institutions.
