Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas successfully conducted its 2026 Quality Management System (QMS) Planning and Review Workshop on February 25, 2026, at the T. Woodward Conference Hall, RMAIS, ISU Roxas – Newsite. The activity gathered Unit Heads, Directors, and Process Owners for a comprehensive review of institutional performance and a collaborative planning session for the year ahead.
The workshop served as an important venue for assessing accomplishments, examining audit findings, and strengthening systems that ensure quality service delivery across all offices. It provided participants with the opportunity to reflect on current practices, identify areas for improvement, and align their respective targets with the University’s strategic direction.
The presentation of the 2026 Quality Objectives and institutional targets was delivered by Dr. Bladyner O. Da Jose, who emphasized the importance of ensuring that each unit’s plans remain aligned with the University’s quality policy and long-term goals. Process owners shared their performance indicators and commitments, followed by an open discussion that focused on addressing previously identified non-conformities. Participants highlighted the need for measurable, attainable targets supported by clear and concrete action plans.
A comprehensive review of external and internal audit findings was presented by Noel P. Palapuz. The discussion outlined existing non-conformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement across various processes. The body underscored the urgency of resolving outstanding issues through timely corrective and preventive actions, strengthening documentation practices, and ensuring the immediate closure of audit findings to improve compliance and audit readiness.
The Performance Monitoring Report, presented by Dr. Januard D. Dagdag, provided an overview of the current status of the University’s Quality Objectives. The report analyzed accomplishments, performance gaps, and emerging trends based on available data. Participants noted that certain targets require closer monitoring due to partial compliance and identified deficiencies, prompting recommendations to enhance tracking systems and conduct regular evaluation meetings. The workshop also featured detailed presentations on the performance of core and support processes, including Research, Extension, Support Services Management Process, and Instruction and Related Operations. Each unit shared its accomplishments and operational challenges, while discussions centered on improving coordination among offices, enhancing reporting accuracy, and resolving existing non-conformities within established timelines.
Client Satisfaction Measurement results were presented by Charibel R. Sarte, offering insights into stakeholder feedback on service delivery. While several offices received favorable ratings, it was observed that some units have not consistently administered client satisfaction surveys. Participants agreed on the importance of regularly conducting surveys to gather reliable feedback and guide service improvement initiatives.
Beyond strengthening internal systems, the workshop also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to global standards and international benchmarks. The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By reinforcing accountability, transparency, and innovation in institutional processes, ISU Roxas continues to align its programs and services with sustainable and inclusive development principles.
Moreover, the outcomes of the workshop contribute to the University’s efforts to enhance its standing in international recognition frameworks such as the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), which highlights higher education institutions for innovation, integrity, and societal impact. Through continuous quality improvement and strengthened governance mechanisms, ISU Roxas advances initiatives that promote innovation-driven education and impactful community engagement.
The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment from all units to uphold quality standards, resolve outstanding non-conformities, and achieve the University’s 2026 targets through sustained collaboration and shared responsibility.
