Two students from Isabela State University Roxas Campus (ISUR) had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 UniFAST Student-Grantees Summit at Pulsar Hotel Premier Suites, Buntun, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, on May 28, 2024. This event, sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education Region 02, aligns with sustainable development goals by empowering students through education and skill development.
Representing ISUR were Mr. Jasper T. Alimpipinig, a Bachelor of Secondary Education student majoring in Mathematics and a grantee of the Tulong Dunong Program-Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES), and Mr. Ronald Dumaguing, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology student and TES grantee. Both students are in their fourth-year. The participation of these students was made possible through the recommendation of the scholarship coordinator, Mr. Lynard A. Dela Cruz, and the ever-supportive ISUR Campus Administrator, Dr. Rosalyn L. Bautista.
The summit focused on optimizing professional growth by enhancing soft skills, crafting resumes, and writing application letters. Additionally, it covered job search strategies and interview techniques. These topics were discussed by esteemed resource speakers, including Engr. Ariel M. Lorenzo of Saint Louis University and Dr. Jennifer O. Serrano of Quirino State University-Cabarroguis Campus.
Through events like this, the UniFAST Student-Grantees Summit contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by equipping students with essential skills for their future careers. This initiative underscores the importance of continuous learning and professional development in fostering a sustainable future for all.
