Isabela State University Roxas Campus has clinched an impressive haul of 50 golds, 5 silvers, and 4 bronze medals in the recently concluded Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAVRAASUC) 2024, hosted at Quirino State University from April 2 to April 5, 2024.

Despite facing formidable opponents from Quirino State University, Cagayan State University, Batanes State University, Philippine Normal University, and Nueva Vizcaya State University, the ISU athletes and socio-cultural enthusiasts showcased remarkable resilience and determination. Their unwavering commitment to excellence shone through, even in the face of stiff competition.

Ms. Mary Jane O Lim, the esteemed Director for Sports at ISUR, expressed profound pride in the exceptional performance of the ISUR delegation. She commended the team for their dedication and hard work, which led to their remarkable success. Moreover, Ms. Lim extended her heartfelt congratulations to the medalists, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to ISUR’s stellar performance.

Among the standout achievers are Cristian Luie Villena, Joebert Dagdag, Katherine A. Arevalo, and Jona Gonzales, who have not only brought glory to ISUR but have also earned the prestigious opportunity to compete at the National level in Karatedo. The sports and socio-cultural activities of SUC is a strong manifestation of Sustainable Development Goal of ISUR in terms of partnerships (SDG 17) among different SUCs and other agencies to promote healthy lives and well being (SDG 3) while balancing their academics (SDG 4), This is also a promotion to gender equality and reducing inequalities among the students of the institution (SDG 4 and 5).
