Empowered Women, Thriving ISU: Celebrating Resilience, Progress, and the Path Ahead” is the closing program’s theme in celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month at Isabela State University-Roxas Campus today, March 26, 2024, at the Don Delfin B. Albano Memorial Gymnasium, Matusalem, Roxas, Isabela.

The program starts with a grand parade at 6:30 in the morning, commencing from the community center of Barangay Matusalem and proceeding to the campus site. The parade is attended by all employees and students, adorned in their purple-colored shirts.

Mr. Joey C. Cereno, Director for Planning, Management Information Systems, and Gender and Development, extends a warm welcome to all attendees of the event.

 

 

 

 

A series of contested activities were conducted, emphasizing women empowerment and gender equality. These activities included an open mic session, an art exhibit, a short film screening, a Juana dance performance, and the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. GAD competition.

Sangguniang Bayan Members, Mr. Jonathan Navalta and Mr. Bong Deray, and the Municipal Mayor of Roxas Honorable Jonathan Jose C. Calderon delivered inspirational messages during the event.

Meanwhile, in addition to the contested activities, seminar-lectures were conducted, which are as follows:

Topic: Voices from the Margins: Discussion on Intersexuality, Addressing Challenges Faced by Women of Different Backgrounds Within ISU.

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for well-being (3), gender equality (5), reduced inequalities (10), and peaceful institutions (16) were attained by the program celebration.
