In line with the ISU’s mission of sustainable development goals for gender equality, reducing inequalities, and establishing peaceful institutions without any gender biases as reflected in SDG numbers 5, 10, and 16, Regional Gender and Development Director Dr. Jhamie Tetz Infante-Mateo visited Isabela State University-Roxas Campus to discuss and train program chairs, office heads, and office secretaries on harmonized gender and development guidelines (HGDG) on March 25, 2024, at the campus T. Woodward Hall with the theme, “Integrating Gender-Responsive Approach in Higher Education”.

The training was organized by the Office of the Extension and Training Services Director Dr. Januard D. Dagdag and by the Office of Planning, Management Information Systems, and Gender and Development Director Mr. Joey C. Cereno to enhance the understanding and implementation of gender-responsive principles within the campus’s programs and projects.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The training components covered understanding harmonized gender and development guidelines, utilizing Project Implementation and Management, and Monitoring Evaluation (PIMME) and Facility Implementation Management, and Monitoring Evaluation (FIMME) checklists, integrating GAD elements into planning and implementation, preparing GAD plans and budgets, and enhancing monitoring and evaluation practices. The participants were actively engaged and participated in the training. The program ends with the awarding of certificates and a strong call to action for a gender-responsive ISU-Roxas.
