On March 20, 2025, the College of Education (CEd) held a work-life balance training session at Xentro Mall, Rizal, Roxas, Isabela. The program is designed to assist individuals in recovering from workplace burnout caused by work overload.

The training consisted of interactive discussions and practical activities.

The key topics covered included:

  1. Gender Inclusive Workplace Policies by Dr. Leinelie Dela Cruz Balagan, Guidance Counsellor III, advocated policies that support a balanced work culture.
  2. Work-Life Balance Strategies by Dr. Maria T. Mamba, Professor II at Cagayan State University. She emphasized the importance of cultivating a balance view of work. She said that we should not forsake the joys of family life by placing too much emphasis on work.
  3. Katatagan Session facilitated by Ms. Marielle Joy P. Timple, RPm, LPT. This session focused on coping mechanisms to reduce stress like mindfulness and meditation exercises, EFT (emotional freedom technique), Progressive muscle relaxation, and bioenergetic exercises.

Indeed, BALANCE is Vital. Our profession shoudn’t  become our obsession.  In other words, we ought to “WORK TO LIVE, NOT LIVE TO WORK.”
