On February 9, 2024, representatives from ISU Roxas had the opportunity to present a proposed building infrastructure project to Hon. Faustino Michael Carlos T. Dy III, Isabela’s 5th congressional district representative.
The main objective of the proposed building infrastructure project is to address the critical infrastructure needs of Isabela State University Roxas. With the increasing student population and the evolving academic programs, there is a pressing need for improved facilities and infrastructure that can support the university’s growth. The proposed building infrastructure aims to enhance the learning environment, provide modern amenities, and create a sustainable and inclusive campus for students and Campus personnel.
Mr. Joey C. Cereno, the campus planning officer, presented data that showcases the increasing demand for upgraded classrooms, laboratories, research centers, and other essential facilities. Moreover, Dr. Rosalyn L. Buatista, the campus administrator of Roxas Campus, emphasizes how the proposed building infrastructure will address these needs and provide a conducive environment for academic excellence and Emphasis on the positive impact the project has on attracting talented students, faculty, and research collaborations.
Discussion on the project’s feasibility, including the approval of funding sources, and adaptation to climate change like using renewable sources of energy and water in support of SDGs was tackled and explained through the collaboration between ISU Roxas, Congressman Dy’s office, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the project. Since ISU Roxas is aiming as one of the Smart Campuses of the ISU System in promoting the university’s vision, mission, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)
The presentation to Congressman Dy was met with enthusiasm and support. The proposed building infrastructure project holds great promise for ISU Roxas Campus and the local community. The support and collaboration of Congressman Dy are vital in securing the necessary resources and approvals to move the project forward. ISU Roxas remains committed to providing a conducive and modern learning environment and looks forward to successfully implementing the proposed building infrastructure project.
