Isabela State University Roxas Campus (ISU Roxas) marked a significant milestone on January 14, 2026, as its New Site officially received Free Wi-Fi for All through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), powered by Starlink satellite internet, in time for the opening of the Second Semester, Academic Year 2025–2026.

This initiative is part of the national government’s ongoing efforts to improve digital connectivity in public institutions, particularly in geographically challenged and underserved areas. With the installation of Starlink technology, ISU Roxas now enjoys fast, reliable, and stable internet access that supports academic, administrative, and research activities.

The Free Wi-Fi for All program is expected to bring immediate and long-term benefits to the entire university community. Faculty and staff can now perform online reporting, research, and communication more efficiently, while students gain better access to e-learning platforms, digital references, and academic collaboration tools.

Campus officials expressed their appreciation to DICT for prioritizing ISU Roxas, emphasizing that the project strengthens the campus’s readiness for blended and technology-driven learning. The improved connectivity also supports online enrollment, learning management systems, virtual meetings, and digital innovation initiatives within the campus.

Beyond academic use, the project promotes digital inclusion, ensuring that no student or employee is left behind due to limited internet access. This development reinforces ISU Roxas’s commitment to providing quality, accessible, and inclusive education.

The Free Wi-Fi installation strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education: Enhances access to digital learning resources and supports modern teaching and learning methods.

  • SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Strengthens digital infrastructure and promotes innovation through improved connectivity.

  • SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Helps bridge the digital divide by providing free internet access to students and employees.

The project reflects the university’s commitment to digital transformation through the adoption of satellite-based internet technology that enhances and modernizes campus connectivity and operations.

It also demonstrates social responsibility by ensuring equitable and inclusive access to digital resources for students, faculty, and staff, particularly in support of teaching, learning, and administrative functions.

Moreover, the improved internet connectivity strengthens student support and experience, providing a more enabling learning environment through reliable access to online platforms, academic resources, and digital services.

As ISU Roxas opens the Second Semester of AY 2025–2026, the Free Wi-Fi for All project stands as a testament to effective collaboration between government agencies and state universities in advancing education through technology.

With stronger connectivity now in place, ISU Roxas continues to move forward as a digitally empowered institution committed to innovation, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
