Isabela State University-Roxas Campus successfully hosted a two-day LTO Student Permit Caravan on March 7-8, 2025, through the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) in collaboration with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Matusalem National High School (MNHS). The event aimed to educate students on traffic safety and assist them in obtaining their student driver’s permits.
The first day of the caravan featured a comprehensive traffic education seminar led by experts from the LTO, Third Gate Driving School, Boss Driving School, and S2 Driving School. Students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders gained valuable insights into road safety, traffic laws, and responsible driving practices (SDG 4: Quality Education).
On the second day, Engr. Florentino D. Dela Cruz Jr., Chief of the LTO District of Roxas, Isabela, and his team facilitated the processing of student permits. This hands-on experience allowed participants to complete the necessary paperwork and receive their permits directly on campus.
The successful implementation of the LTO Student Permit Caravan highlights the collaborative efforts of various individuals and departments (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals). Dr. Nelmar P. Agub, the Project Leader, played a pivotal role in spearheading the initiative. Mr. Jeherson V. Deriza, CCJE Extension Coordinator, along with the CCJE faculty, facilitated the event, while Dr. Januard D. Dagdag, Director for Extension and Training, provided invaluable guidance and support. Dr. Rosalyn L. Bautista, Campus Administrator, exhibited outstanding leadership in ensuring the seamless execution of the program. Her unwavering support, strategic direction, and commitment to student welfare were instrumental in making the event a success, reinforcing the university’s dedication to community engagement and public service.
This event not only empowered participants with essential traffic knowledge but also provided a convenient platform for obtaining their student permits. The success of the LTO Student Permit Caravan paves the way for stronger future collaborations between ISU and LTO (SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) to further promote road safety and responsible driving practices among students and the wider community.
