The 2026 Research Colloquium of Isabela State University was successfully conducted on May 11, 2026, at the T. Wood Ward Conference Hall, ISU Roxas Rang-ayan, Roxas, Isabela. The activity gathered faculty members, researchers, evaluators, and students in celebration of academic excellence, innovation, and scholarly exchange through research presentations.
The program formally commenced at 8:00 A.M. with the registration of participants, followed by the invocation, singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and the ISU Hymn. These opening activities fostered an atmosphere of unity, patriotism, and commitment to the university’s vision of becoming a SMART Green University internationally recognized for positive societal transformation.
An audio-visual presentation prepared by the Research and Development Office highlighted the university’s accomplishments, initiatives, and continuing efforts in promoting quality research and extension services. The presentation inspired participants to pursue innovative, relevant, and socially responsive studies aligned with the university’s mission and quality policy.
The welcome remarks were delivered by Rosalyn L. Bautista. In her message, she warmly welcomed all participants and emphasized the vital role of research in generating knowledge, advancing community development, and strengthening academic excellence within the university. She further encouraged both faculty and students to actively engage in research endeavors that contribute to sustainable development and societal progress. A meaningful message was likewise delivered by Romano P. Cammayo, who expressed his full support for the university’s research initiatives. He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the researchers, advisers, and organizers in making the colloquium successful and underscored the significance of research as an essential tool for innovation and institutional growth.
The introduction of evaluators was facilitated by Noel A. Palapuz. The Board of Evaluators played a vital role in ensuring the credibility, fairness, and quality of the research presentations. For the Social and Higher Education Category, the evaluators were Januard D. Dagdag and Rosalyn L. Bautista. Meanwhile, the Technical and Technological Category was evaluated by Edna M. Valdez and Janet P. Cunanan. Their expertise and professional insights greatly contributed to the successful evaluation of the participating research studies.
Thereafter, Janet P. Cunanan presented the rationale and mechanics of the colloquium. She discussed the objectives of the activity, criteria for judging, guidelines for presenters, and the importance of maintaining academic integrity and professionalism throughout the competition.
The highlight of the activity was the research paper presentations conducted from 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., where graduate and undergraduate researchers presented their respective studies. The presentations showcased diverse topics and innovative findings that addressed current issues and community concerns. Participants demonstrated confidence, competence, and critical thinking while responding to questions and recommendations from the panel of evaluators.
The event concluded with the Awarding and Closing Program held from 4:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Outstanding researches and exemplary presenters were recognized for their remarkable contributions and achievements. The awarding ceremony served as an inspiration for participants to continue pursuing excellence in research and academic endeavors.
