Isabela State University (ISU) underwent an Accreditation Survey Visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from March 26 to 28, 2025. The event aimed to assess and evaluate the university’s academic programs for Level IV Phase 2 accreditation.

The accreditation survey focused on programs from two ISU campuses. At the Cabagan Campus, the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and the Bachelor of Science in Biology were evaluated, while at the Roxas Campus, the Bachelor in Secondary Education and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology were assessed.
ISU Roxas College of Education and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology underwent a three-day Level IV Phase 2 Accreditation, which is the highest level of accreditation. The evaluation covered areas such as research, community extension, teaching and learning, international linkages, and well-developed planning.
The process began with an overall online meeting with the Cabagan Campus, followed by separate campus-specific and program-specific evaluations. Program evaluators were welcomed by Dr. Rosalyn L. Bautista, ISUR Campus Administrator, followed by a greet-and-meet session with the local task force, led by Campus Overall Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Charibel R. Sarte, Campus Academic Affairs Director, for the different areas to be evaluated, particularly for BSEd and BSIT. Rigorous document reviews were conducted by the evaluators on the first day of accreditation. On the second day, accreditors for BSEd and BSIT visited ISU Roxas for a Q&A session, document validation, alumni interviews, and visits to extension sites related to the two programs.
The accreditation visit concluded with a closing program on March 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM. A prayer was led by Assoc. Prof. Ma. Valen D. Alzate, PhD, Program Chairperson of BSIT, followed by the synthesis of evaluation results presented by Dr. Sherrilyn B. Quintos. Dr. Rosalyn Bautista delivered words of commitment, reinforcing ISUR’s dedication to continuous improvement and excellence in higher education. To formally recognize the efforts of the AACCUP accreditors, certificates of recognition were awarded. The final results of the accreditation will be sent to ISU after the deliberation of AACCUP.
As ISU completed this accreditation survey, the university remained steadfast in its mission to provide high-quality education, improve institutional standards, and maintain its reputation as a leading academic institution in the region. The AACCUP evaluation served as an opportunity for ISU to further enhance its academic offerings and ensure the continuous development of its programs for the benefit of students and the wider community.
This accreditation initiative aligns with ISU’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By continuously striving for academic excellence, fostering research and community engagement, and strengthening collaborations with various institutions, ISU contributes to the advancement of sustainable and inclusive education, ensuring that future generations receive the highest quality learning experience.
