With heads held high and hearts brimming with pride, the future guardians of peace and justice from the College of Criminal Justice Education stepped into a defining chapter of their academic journey during the Pinning and Send-Off Ceremony — a solemn yet inspiring event marking the transition of Criminology and Law Enforcement Administration students from classroom learning to real-world service through their On-the-Job Training (OJT).
The ceremony, held in an atmosphere of anticipation and emotion, symbolized not just achievement but transformation — from students of theory to aspiring protectors of law and order. It celebrated years of perseverance, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of justice and public service.
The program began with a heartfelt invocation, setting a reverent tone for the event. This was followed by the Opening Remarks of Ms. Medelyn Lacunsay, Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration, who warmly welcomed the campus officials, parents, faculty, and guests. She reminded the interns of their moral duty to uphold justice, discipline, and integrity as they prepare to enter the field, carrying the name of their institution with pride.
Adding further depth to the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Emerson V. Barcellano, the Campus Administrator, delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with both students and parents. “As you step into your OJT assignment, you will encounter the realities of the world beyond the classroom — moments that will test your patience, courage, and resilience. But remember this: every challenge you face is an opportunity to grow, learn, and to strengthen your resolve,” he said. His words served as a powerful reminder that true learning begins when theory meets experience.
The Program Proper brought the audience to awe with an electrifying Silent Drill Exhibition performed by the Criminology and Law Enforcement Administration students. Every synchronized movement and command reflected the discipline, precision, and unity that define their training. The exhibition embodied the core values of respect, leadership, and teamwork — the very virtues that will guide these young cadets in their future service.
One of the most emotional highlights of the event was the Pinning of Insignia — a symbolic moment where parents pinned the emblem of service onto their children’s uniforms. Tears filled the hall as proud mothers and fathers embraced their sons and daughters, recognizing that this small act represented years of sacrifice, faith, and unwavering support. It was a poignant reminder that behind every uniform stands a family that nurtured strength and courage.
In addition, the Presentation and Awarding of Certificates to Host Agencies was led by Dr. Nelmar P. Agub, Dean of CCJE and Program Chair of the BS Criminology, to recognize the invaluable partnership of agencies such as the PNP, BFP, and MDRRMO. Their unwavering support provides students with meaningful real-world training and mentorship. Representatives from these agencies also shared brief but inspiring messages, welcoming the interns and encouraging them to uphold professionalism and integrity in their assignments.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt Closing Remarks delivered by College Secretary Ms. Redelyn F. Dupaya, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—the College of Criminal Justice Education reaffirmed its commitment to producing globally competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates. The event stood as a testament to the shared mission of the academe and partner institutions: to nurture future law enforcers who embody integrity, excellence, and public service in the pursuit of peace and justice.
