ROXAS, Isabela | July 31, 2026 — Isabela State University (ISU) successfully concluded the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Accreditation Survey Visit 2026 through a virtual Closing Meeting, marking the culmination of a five-day evaluation held from July 27 to 31, 2026. The event brought together University officials, campus administrators, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, partner agencies, and AACCUP accreditors in reaffirming the University’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and institutional transformation.

The accreditation survey covered academic programs from several ISU campuses, including the Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Mathematics Education, Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies, Master of Science in Fisheries, Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Elementary Education. Throughout the survey visit, the AACCUP accrediting team conducted comprehensive evaluations through document validation, virtual interviews, presentations, and assessments of instruction, faculty, curriculum, research, extension, student services, governance, learning resources, and institutional support systems.

During the Closing Meeting, Dr. Sisendo C. Masagcap Jr., Overall Coordinator, presented the Synthesis of Evaluation, highlighting the University’s many strengths and recognizing the dedication of its administrators, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. He commended Isabela State University for its responsive academic programs, competent and committed faculty, meaningful research and extension initiatives, student-centered services, and collaborative institutional culture. At the same time, he presented valuable recommendations to further strengthen the University’s quality assurance practices, particularly in improving document management by ensuring that accreditation evidence is complete, program-specific, systematically organized, and uploaded in a timely manner. He likewise encouraged the conduct of mock accreditation activities to enhance institutional preparedness and enable the University to showcase its best practices more effectively in future accreditation surveys.

In her message, Dr. Annalene Grace E. Co, Cluster Coordinator, praised the professionalism, resilience, transparency, and collaborative spirit demonstrated by the entire ISU community throughout the accreditation process. She emphasized that the University’s openness to constructive feedback reflects a healthy quality assurance culture—one that views accreditation not simply as a recognition but as a continuing journey toward excellence. Encouraging the University community to sustain its momentum, she challenged ISU to “go for higher levels of accreditation, embrace continuous improvement, and achieve the quality of education and quality of life that the entire Isabela State University community truly deserves.”

Responding on behalf of the University, Prof. Precila C. Delima, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed the University’s sincere appreciation to the AACCUP accreditors for their professionalism, expertise, and valuable recommendations. She affirmed that ISU will carefully review every observation and recommendation and translate them into strategic and actionable plans that will further strengthen academic programs, faculty development, research, extension, student services, learning resources, and institutional operations. She underscored that the conclusion of the accreditation visit does not signify the end of the University’s work; rather, it provides a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer direction toward achieving even greater levels of academic quality and institutional effectiveness.

Delivering the closing message, Atty. Romano P. Cammayo, DPA, Campus Administrator of ISU Roxas Campus, highlighted that accreditation is more than a compliance requirement—it is an opportunity for the University to honestly evaluate its curriculum, instruction, faculty development, research, extension services, facilities, governance, and student support systems. He emphasized that excellence is sustained through honest evaluation, careful planning, shared responsibility, and a collective commitment to continuous improvement. He further noted that accreditation strengthens public trust by assuring students, parents, industry partners, and communities that the University’s academic programs meet nationally recognized standards while preparing graduates who are competent, ethical, innovative, and responsive to the needs of society.

The University also extended its heartfelt gratitude to the AACCUP accreditors, overall coordinators, team leaders, evaluators, and technical personnel for their invaluable guidance and dedication throughout the survey visit.
