Roxas, Isabela – In a stirring display of patriotism and commitment to national progress, Isabela State University Roxas Campus, led by the esteemed Campus Administrator Dr. Rosalyn L. Bautista, participated in the recital of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge today, June 10, 2024. This significant event aligns with Memorandum Circular No. 52 issued by the Office of the President of the Philippines.

In adherence to the directive, all government entities, including local government units (LGUs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and state universities and colleges (SUCs), are task to incorporate the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge into their weekly flag ceremonies. This initiative underscores the Administration’s commitment to fostering a sense of unity and national identity.

The memorandum outlines that the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge are integral components of the current Administration’s vision for governance. The fourth paragraph of the memorandum highlights the essence of Bagong Pilipinas, stating:

“Bagong Pilipinas, characterized by principled, accountable, and dependable governance, reinforced by unified institutions of society, envisions empowering Filipinos to actively support and engage in all governmental endeavors. This holistic approach aims to drive profound and fundamental social and economic transformation across all sectors of society and government.”

Under Dr. Bautista’s leadership, the ISUR community proudly joined in this nationwide effort, symbolizing their dedication to the values and goals articulated in the Bagong Pilipinas initiative. This moment marks a significant step in rallying the Filipino people towards collective progress and societal development.

Incorporating the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge into ISUR’s weekly routines symbolizes the institution’s dedication to these national ideals. This practice also dovetails with ISUR’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  1. Quality Education (SDG 4): ISUR strives to provide inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. By integrating the Bagong Pilipinas initiative, the university reinforces its educational mission to instill values of patriotism and civic responsibility among its students.
  2. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8): The focus on principled and accountable governance encourages a stable and progressive environment, which is crucial for sustainable economic growth and employment opportunities. ISUR supports this by preparing its students to be future leaders and innovators who contribute to the nation’s economic resilience.
  3. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16): The recital of the hymn and pledge underscores the importance of strong institutions and active civic participation, which are fundamental to achieving peace and justice. ISUR’s commitment to these principles reflects its role in fostering a just and inclusive society.

By integrating the recital of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge into their weekly routines, ISUR and similar institutions nationwide are not just following a directive but are actively participating in the collective effort to achieve a brighter and more inclusive future for all Filipinos.
