On January 15, 2025, Campus Administrator Dr. Rosalyn L. Bautista of Isabela State University Roxas (ISUR) Campus convened the first general meeting of the year to discuss and update ISUR personnel on the institution’s milestones for 2024. She also reminded employees, particularly faculty members, to prioritize the welfare of students as they prepared for the opening of the second semester of the 2024–2025 school year.

The meeting covered the agenda focusing on instruction/student development, research, extension, production, and administration, with updates and reminders provided by the respective directors:

  1. Instruction/Student Development

Faculty members were reminded of their responsibilities to ensure the delivery of quality education and holistic student development. Specific points included:

  • Submission and enhancement of syllabi.
  • On-time submission of grade sheets.
  • Preparations for the upcoming Level 4 accreditation of the Bachelor of Secondary Education and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs.
  • Implementation of the “Walang Plastikan sa Kampus” (Zero Plastic at ISUR) initiative to promote environmental sustainability.
  • Introduction of new prescribed student uniforms to enhance campus identity and discipline.
  • Preparations for the upcoming University Meet, fostering student engagement and sportsmanship.
  1. Research and Extension

Directors provided updates on the number of approved research projects and extension programs. They encouraged faculty members to:

  • Conduct research and actively participate in extension activities within their departments.
  • Recognize the benefits of incorporating research and extension work into their academic responsibilities and career advancement opportunities.
  1. Production

The Director of Campus Resource Generation Management reported on the income generated from campus production services and presented new income-generating projects. These proposals were approved by the assembly, reflecting a commitment to financial sustainability and enhanced campus resources.

  1. Administration

Employees were reminded of their administrative responsibilities, which included:

  • Updating personal information and submitting required documents, such as the Individual Performance Commitment Review (IPCR) and Daily Time Records (DTR).
  • Adhering to ethical standards and fulfilling duties as government employees.

In addition, updates on infrastructure development were presented, which included plans for funded building projects and the ongoing beautification of ISUR to create a more conducive and inspiring learning environment.

The meeting aligns to university’s commitment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) which insures inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): Fostering productive employment and sustainable economic growth through campus initiatives and personnel development and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): Upholding effective, accountable, and inclusive institutional practices.

Dr. Bautista emphasized the collective commitment of all personnel to uphold the university’s vision of excellence across all areas of operation. She reiterated the importance of teamwork and dedication in achieving ISUR’s mission of contributing meaningfully to the institution’s growth and to the broader goals of sustainable development.
