The Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas Campus, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology Region II (DOST R2), formally launched innovative food and non-food technologies under the Product Resources Innovation Development and Entrepreneurship (PRIDE) Program on May 21, 2026, at XentroMall, Roxas, Isabela, marking a milestone in technology transfer and commercialization for sustainable community development.

The event brought together university officials, local government leaders, partner agencies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), adopters, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology adoption.

Campus Administrator Atty. Romano P. Cammayo opened the program with a welcome address, emphasizing the importance of technology transfer initiatives in empowering communities and enhancing local industries. Prof. Orlando F. Balderama, Vice President for Research, Development, Extension, and Training (RDET), followed with a discussion on the role of universities as centers of innovation, highlighting their capacity to generate technologies that create economic opportunities.

Representing University President Prof. Boyet L. Batang, Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Precilia de Lima underscored ISU’s mission of responsible innovation and inclusive development. Messages of support were also delivered by Roxas Mayor Hon. Benedict Calderon, Mallig Mayor Hon. Jose Philip Calderon, and DOST Isabela Provincial Director Rose Danga, all stressing the importance of policy support, funding, and local adoption of technologies to drive entrepreneurship and growth.

 

The program featured an overview of the Technology Transfer initiative by Provincial Director of Batanes Nora Garcia followed by PRIDE Project Leader Dr. Janet Cunanan’s presentation of the program’s mission and scope. Dr. Rosalyn Bautista then pitched the developed technologies, showcasing their commercial potential and contribution to local economic development.

A highlight of the event was the ceremonial signing of the Term Sheet and Technology Transfer Licensing Agreement, where partner LGUs, SMEs, and stakeholders pledged their commitment to collaborate in promoting technology utilization and commercialization.

The program concluded with a mini-expo walkthrough and product critiquing session, allowing guests and participants to interact with showcased innovations, exchange ideas, and explore commercialization strategies.
