ROXAS, ISABELA —September 14, 2026 — Members of Bahagihan sa Roxas Inc. SAPLOT, a community organization supported by Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas Campus through its Office of Community Engagement, recently received cash assistance amounting to ₱200,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The financial grant was facilitated through the efforts of Roxas Mayor Hon. Benedict C. Calderon and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Mrs. Jane C. Canaoay. The funds were sourced from DSWD’s Project Development Advancement Grant (PDAG), a program aimed at supporting community-based initiatives and livelihood development.

The assistance is expected to strengthen the operational and management capacities of Bahagihan sa Roxas Inc. SAPLOT, enabling the organization to further its mission of empowering local communities through sustainable development initiatives and livelihood opportunities.

The initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 – No Poverty, by supporting community initiatives that can improve economic well-being; SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, by promoting livelihood development and sustainable economic opportunities; and SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, by extending support to community-based organizations and their members.

More importantly, the collaboration exemplifies SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting the collective efforts of DSWD, the Municipality of Roxas, Isabela State University Roxas Campus, and Bahagihan sa Roxas Inc. SAPLOT in advancing inclusive and sustainable community development.

Through strengthened partnerships among government agencies, local government, academe, and community organizations, ISU Roxas Campus continues to support initiatives that translate institutional engagement into meaningful opportunities for local communities.
