ROXAS, Isabela – Following an invitation from Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas, Hon. Kristin Bernadeth L. Uy, Municipal Councilor of Roxas, visited the campus on July 28, 2025, to discuss the development of a childminding facility and lactation station. This initiative, in compliance with Republic Act 9710 (Magna Carta of Women) and Republic Act 8972 (Solo Parents’ Welfare Act), aims to create a more supportive environment for students and employees who are parents, particularly single parents and mothers. The project aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Discussions with Campus Administrator Prof. Dr. Emerson V. Barcellano focused on implementation strategies, including securing funding, identifying a suitable location, and developing an operational plan.
The project is a collaborative effort between ISU Roxas and LGU Roxas, demonstrating a shared commitment to improving campus life and supporting families. The university anticipates that the new facilities will significantly benefit students, staff, and the clientele of ISU Roxas.
