As the opening of School Year 2026–2027 draws near and the rainy season begins, Isabela State University Roxas Campus continues to prioritize the welfare, safety, and convenience of its stakeholders through the implementation of the Driveway Concreting Project located at the ISU Roxas New Site, Rang-ayan, Roxas, Isabela.
This timely initiative aims to provide a safe, durable, and all-weather driveway that supports the daily transportation needs of students, faculty members, staff, visitors, and service vehicles within the university premises. The concreted driveway will improve accessibility throughout the campus, ensuring smoother mobility and safer passage regardless of weather conditions.
With thousands of students expected to return as classes for School Year 2026–2027 officially open, the importance of this project becomes even more evident. During the rainy season, unpaved roads often become muddy, slippery, and difficult to navigate, posing inconvenience and safety concerns to everyone entering the campus. Through this project, ISU Roxas Campus seeks to address these challenges by reducing dust during dry months, preventing muddy pathways during heavy rains, improving traffic flow, and minimizing maintenance requirements compared to unpaved surfaces.
More than a physical improvement, this undertaking reflects the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility. The Driveway Concreting Project was made possible through the collective efforts and cooperation of the university administration and the students under the leadership of our Campus Administrator, Atty. Romano P. Cammayo. It is a testament to what can be achieved when an academic community unites toward a common purpose.
This initiative also advances the University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
✅ SDG 4 – Quality Education by providing a safer and more conducive learning environment;
✅ SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of resilient and sustainable campus facilities; and
✅ SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces for all stakeholders.
Likewise, the project embodies the principles of the University’s Smart Green University agenda by investing in long-lasting infrastructure that enhances safety, efficiency, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability. Durable facilities reduce recurring maintenance demands while ensuring that campus services remain responsive to the needs of the community.
Moreover, this initiative reflects the ideals of the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) by demonstrating how practical and people-centered innovations can directly improve the quality of campus life. Through projects such as this, ISU Roxas Campus shows that higher education institutions create real impact not only through academic excellence but also through meaningful actions that uplift the communities they serve.
As we prepare to welcome another academic year, this project stands as a symbol of our unwavering dedication to service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Together, we are not merely constructing a driveway—we are paving the way toward safer journeys, accessible opportunities, and a brighter future for every Isabeleño.
“Sa pagkakaisa ng administrasyon at mga mag-aaral, bawat hakbang ng pag-unlad ay nagiging matatag na daan tungo sa isang ligtas, maayos, at makabagong pamayanang ISU Roxas.”
