In line with its commitment to promoting employee well-being, camaraderie, and work-life balance, the Isabela State University (ISU) Roxas Campus successfully conducted the 2025 Campus Rest and Recreation cum Year-End Celebration on December 19, 2025, at Ronquillo Farm and Resort, Purok Nasudi, Simimbaan, Roxas, Isabela.
The activity brought together faculty members, non-academic staff, and campus officials for a day dedicated to relaxation, appreciation, and strengthening workplace relationships after a productive academic year. The event reflected ISU’s holistic approach to institutional development—recognizing that a motivated and well-supported workforce is vital to achieving academic excellence and organizational success.
The program formally opened with an overture and photo opportunity, followed by welcome remarks delivered by Ms. Wendy A. Alvarez, Alternate GAD Focal Person. Messages of inspiration and solidarity were shared by key campus leaders, including Assoc. Prof. Charibel R. Sarte, Director for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance; Asst. Prof. Mary Jane C. Banigued, President of the Faculty Association; and Ms. Ivy Camille M. Gan, President of the Non-Academic Staff Association. Their messages emphasized unity, appreciation for collective efforts, and the importance of maintaining balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being.
The celebration was further enlivened by cultural and talent performances from various academic units, including dance and singing presentations by representatives from the College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Fisheries, Agriculture and Agribusiness, and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology. These performances showcased the creativity, diversity, and talents of the ISU Roxas Campus community.
The rationale of the activity was presented by Asst. Prof. Joey C. Cereno, Director for PMIS-GAD, highlighting the importance of rest, recreation, and fellowship in sustaining productivity and fostering a positive organizational culture. A message of appreciation and commitment to work-life balance was also delivered by Prof. Dr. Emerson V. Barcellano, RPF, Campus Administrator, who commended the dedication of faculty and staff and reaffirmed the administration’s support for employee welfare initiatives.
The afternoon session featured recreational and team-building activities, as well as fellowship events such as parlor games, talent sharing, and inter-unit fun contests. These activities strengthened teamwork, boosted morale, and reinforced a sense of belonging among participants.
All in all, the 2025 Campus Rest and Recreation cum Year-End Celebration served as a meaningful culmination of the year’s accomplishments, fostering unity, appreciation, and renewed motivation among the ISU Roxas Campus family as they move forward to another year of service, excellence, and shared commitment.
